Red Bud with Acrylic
This red bud tree was cut down and chunks were sawn up into bowl blanks. The blanks were end grain sealed and set out to dry naturally. Once dry to less than 15% I rough turned the bowl placed in a paper bag with its own shavings and allowed to dry for 6 months. We completed the rugh turning and placed the bowl in a form and incorporated red acrlic materials, then placed the product in a pressure pot under 50 pounds of pressure for nearly 24 hours. The bowl was relased from its form and turned and finished to approximately 6" wide y 2" tall.
